Reference materials are important in our learning.  These are the materials I've referenced and collected in my knowledge base, and I would like to share them with you.

 

1. Looking after fresh cut flowers

After you've purchased bouquets from us, I would recommend you to remove the wrapper and place the bouquet in a vase with fresh water.  You should add the flower food provided (a blue sachet) into the fresh water for the flowers to last longer. An additional step (if you have floral scissors or a clean pair of sharp scissors) would be to trim the flower stems shorter by 1cm to 2cm (depending on how much allowance the bouquet has) to allow the flower stalks to better absorb water.

I was conditioning my fresh cut flowers for Mother's Day.  Bought peony, carnations and lilies.  They were all in buds when I bought them from the wholesaler.  Just needed them to bloom a little faster in time for arrangements.  Here's what I've learnt and it worked:
